HoldMyCall

Get through to Royal Mail without the hold queue

Royal Mail is where HoldMyCall started: a lost parcel, no email address to write to, and a phone queue that ate a lunch hour. If you've got a missing item, a damaged delivery or a redirection that hasn't kicked in, the phone line is still the only way to talk to a person.

Opening hours
Mon to Fri 8am to 6:30pm, Sat 8am to 3pm, Sun 9am to 2pm
When you ring
Redelivery is handled by the number on your 'Something for you' card; this line is for everything else.
Worth knowing
Royal Mail's own website does its best not to show this number and steers you to a chatbot. The line carries everything, so long holds at peak times are normal.

Number checked against Ofcom's Royal Mail complaints page on 10 October 2026. Call charges may apply if you ring it yourself.

What HoldMyCall does on a Royal Mail call

  1. 1

    Dials and waits

It rings 03457 740 740, works through the menu and sits in the queue, however long it takes. You get on with your day.

  2. 2

    Has the conversation

It introduces itself as an AI assistant calling on your behalf, gives the details you provided when asked, and pushes politely for the outcome you wanted.

  3. 3

    Reports back

A summary, whether it got what you asked for, any reference numbers, and the full transcript and recording. If they insist on speaking to you, your phone rings and one keypress joins the live call.

Things people ask it to sort with Royal Mail

  • Chase a missing parcel

“My parcel was due on Tuesday and hasn't arrived. The tracking hasn't updated since Monday. Find out where it is and when it will be delivered, and get a reference number for the enquiry.”

  • Fix a redirection

“I set up a mail redirection from my old address and post is still going there. Find out why it isn't working and get it corrected.”

  • Claim for a damaged item

“A parcel arrived damaged. Find out how to claim, what evidence they need, and how long it takes.”

Have these ready

Whether you ring or the assistant does, Royal Mail will want some of these before they will talk about your account.

  • Tracking or reference number
  • The address the item was going to, with postcode
  • Date it was posted or expected
  • Sender's details if you are the recipient

Save them once in Settings and every call starts with them filled in. The assistant only gives a detail when it is asked for it, and it is hard-coded to refuse payments and contract changes.

Let it ring Royal Mail for you.

First 5 calls are free while we're in beta. The assistant never pretends to be human, and every word is yours to keep.
