Get through to DPD without the hold queue
DPD is usually one of the better couriers, which makes it more annoying when a parcel goes wrong. The phone line works, but it sits behind a wait DPD itself admits to, and the app would really rather you chatted.
DPD customer service
0121 275 0500- Opening hours
- Mon to Fri 8am to 6:30pm, Sat 8am to 4pm, Sun 9am to 3pm, not bank holidays
- Worth knowing
- DPD's own page quotes a 5 to 10 minute wait and steers you towards chat in the app.
Number checked against DPD's own site on 10 October 2026. Call charges may apply if you ring it yourself.
What HoldMyCall does on a DPD call
- 1
Dials and waits
It rings 0121 275 0500, works through the menu and sits in the queue, however long it takes. You get on with your day.
- 2
Has the conversation
It introduces itself as an AI assistant calling on your behalf, gives the details you provided when asked, and pushes politely for the outcome you wanted.
- 3
Reports back
A summary, whether it got what you asked for, any reference numbers, and the full transcript and recording. If they insist on speaking to you, your phone rings and one keypress joins the live call.
Things people ask it to sort with DPD
Chase a delayed parcel
“My parcel was due today between 1pm and 2pm and the tracking now says 'delayed'. Find out what happened and get a new delivery date.”
Wrong address delivery
“The tracking says my parcel was delivered but the photo shows a door that isn't mine. Find out where it went and get it recovered or re-sent.”
Change the delivery
“Change tomorrow's delivery so it goes to my local DPD pickup shop instead of my home address.”
Have these ready
Whether you ring or the assistant does, DPD will want some of these before they will talk about your account.
- Parcel number or calling card number
- Delivery postcode
- Retailer and order number
Save them once in Settings and every call starts with them filled in. The assistant only gives a detail when it is asked for it, and it is hard-coded to refuse payments and contract changes.
Let it ring DPD for you.
First 5 calls are free while we're in beta. The assistant never pretends to be human, and every word is yours to keep.
